Ronald E. Ness

MANCHESTER – Ronald E. Ness, 86, entered into rest at 9:58 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Rest Haven – York.  He was the husband of the late Ada M. (Paules) Ness.  They were married 61 years.

Born September 28, 1936 in York, Ronald was a son of the late John L. and Ida E. (Weisheit) Ness.

He graduated from William Penn High School in 1954 and retired in 1998 following 42 years of service at York Container in York where he worked as an assistant printing press operator.

He was a member if the Starview U. M. Church where he was a Sunday school teacher, superintendent, and a member of the choir. He was a member of the Northeastern Senior Center.

Ronald is survived by three daughters, Ruby McLaughlin of York, Louann Bodine and husband, Samuel of York and Tammy Laird and husband, Bruce of Dover; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Daugherty; and two brothers, Ervin and John Ness.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine A. Ness; a brother; and a sister.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ronald’s funeral at 10 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Carol Burkindine of McKendree U.M. Church in Airville.
