Rosalle M. Shaffner

DOVER – Rosalle M. (Morthland) Shaffner, 85, entered into rest at 3:55 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Charles E. “Red” Shaffner.

Born October 19, 1940 in York, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Emma A. (Gotwalt) Morthland.

Rosalle was a homemaker and attended Bible Baptist Church in York.  She loved babysitting, butterflies and visiting the beach in Chincoteague, VA.

Rosalle is survived by two daughters, Lori Snook and husband, Lonnie of Beavertown and Karen Shaffner of Dover; two grandsons, Brandon Ritter and wife, Lindsey and Dalan Shaffner.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Shaffner; five sisters, Nettiebell Bollinger, Elva A. Landis, Ginger E. Reeves, Shirley Ann Whitehill, and Judy A. Gotwalt; and a brother, Curtis Morthland, Jr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rosalle’s funeral at 10:30 a.m. and the visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Bible Baptist Church, 4190 N. Susquehanna Trail, York.  Burial will follow in Dover Bethany Cemetery.  Officiating will be Pastor Bill Schutt.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
