DOVER – Rosemarie A. Holmes, 81, entered into rest at 7:51 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2022 at WellSpan York Hospital.  She was the loving wife of Ernest L. Holmes.  The couple would have been married for 64 years on October 4, 2022.

Born September 4, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, Rosemarie was a daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Berkanstock) Vukmanic.

She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician for over 30 years.

Rosemarie enjoyed painting in her earlier years and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Holmes and wife, Teresa of Dover; two grandchildren, Derek and Brianna Holmes; a great grandson, Kohin Holmes; brother, Frank Vukmanic of Red Lion; sister, Gloria Fogel of East York; brother-in-law, Kenneth Holmes of Gettysburg; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Holmes; brother, George Vukmanic; and sister-in-law, Marie Finzer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rosemarie’s funeral at 11:30 a.m. and the viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery, York.  Officiating will be the Very Reverend William Forrey, Pastor of Holy Infant Parish.
