Ruth A. Moyer

DOVER – Ruth A. Moyer, 95, entered into rest at 1:05 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025 at York South Nursing and Rehabilitation.  She was the wife of the late Irvin B. Moyer who died in 1999.  The couple was married on September 25, 1953.

Born August 27, 1929 in Rebersburg, Ruth was a daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Mary S. (Hettinger) Albright.

She worked as a seamstress for Danskin. Ruth was a member of Harmony Grove Community Church.  She was a Bible teacher with Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years and was a listener for the Bible Adventure Program.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn R. Bupp and her husband, Ronald E. and Betty A. Altland, wife of the late Roy E., all of Dover; three grandchildren, Kristen May, Sherry Kent and husband, Dan and Matt Altland and wife, Melissa; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Leila, Sophia, Ethan and Joshua; and two sisters, Miriam Sowers of Chambersburg and Alma LeBaron of Columbia.  In addition to her husband, parents and son-in-law, she was preceded in death by her sister, Naomi Potter.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruth’s funeral at 1 p.m. and the viewing from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Officiating will be her pastor, Jim Crosley.  Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
