Ruth E. Wolgamuth
DOVER – Ruth E. (Giles) (Schnetzka) Wolgamuth, 93, entered into rest on November 30, 2024 at AdventHealth East Orlando Hospital. She was the wife of Gorman Schnetzka until his death in 1960 and Leroy G. Wolgamuth from 1964 until his death in 1993.
Born May 26, 1931 in York County, Ruth was a daughter of the Lawrence W. Giles, Sr. and Sylvia (Unger) Giles.
Her lifelong trade as a seamstress lasted well into her eighties and she was a at times a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Ruth was a long-time member of Salem United Church of Christ in Dover and had been a member of the Dover Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Ruth enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, baking from scratch, being frugal and resourceful, and being self-sufficient, living alone until age 91 in the house she and her first husband built by hand. She was also a skilled seamstress who continued to make blankets for family members until the age of 90.
Ruth is survived by three children, Neil R. Schnetzka and wife, Loree of Dover, Dee H. Yeager and husband, Daniel of Kissimmee, FL, and Roy L. Wolgamuth, Esq. and wife, Ana of Orlando, FL; two step-daughters, Diane L. Freuh and husband, John of Homosassa, FL and Debbie L. Lukehart; a step-daughter-in-law, Bonnie Wolgamuth; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Duane L. Wolgamuth and thirteen of her siblings.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruth’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Salem U.C.C., 2705 W. Canal Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastors Don Clark and Gary Stefanski. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. in Dover.
