Sandra A. James

YORK – Sandra A. (Krout) James, 74, entered into rest at 9:13 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Roy W. James.

Born March 30, 1948 in Hanover, Sandra was a daughter of the late Eugene H. and Lorain J. (Ruth) Krout.  She graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1966.

Sandra worked as a travel agent and enjoyed traveling as well, especially to the mountains and the beach.  She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her fiancé, Donald Fishel of York; three children, Monica Burke and husband, Brian, of York, George Shenberger and partner, Rod Distasi, of Atlanta, GA and Nichole Howard and husband, Adam, of York; five grandchildren, Devin, Tyler and Megan Burke and Brayden and Landon Howard; two great grandchildren, Gwendylynn and Briar Burke; a sister, Donna K. Smith and husband, Craig, of York; a nephew, Alex Shearer; and her kitties, Meka and Boo.

Following cremation, a time to celebrate Sandra’s life will be scheduled at a later date.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Paul’s (Wolf’s) Church Cemetery.  Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving her family.
