Shirley A. Baney

DOVER – Shirley A. Baney, 82, entered into rest on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in York.  She was the wife of the late Lester L. Baney, Jr. who died July 21, 2007.  They were married 46 years.

Born June 12, 1941 in Manchester, Shirley was a daughter of the late Samuel O. and Catherine (Hartman) Laughman.

She graduated from Northeastern High School and was a homemaker who had also worked for Bern Haven Sewing Factory and Walmart in West York.  In addition, she helped her husband and son on their family farm.

Shirley enjoyed watching old Western movies, as well as reading Western novels.

She is survived by her son, Lester L. Baney III of Dover; brother, Samuel O. Laughman and wife, Carla, of Manchester; niece, Sindee Laughman and her children, Dakota McNew and Jorrie Laughman; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Hollinger of Dover.

Following cremation, services will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
