Shirley M. King Reisinger
YORK – Shirley M. (Gillen) King Reisinger, 85, entered into rest at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at SpiriTrust Lutheran - Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Simon H. King and Glenn D. “Skip” Reisinger.
Born April 22, 1937 in York Haven, Shirley was a daughter of the late William H. Gillen and Saloma (Kope) Gillen Rubinic.
She was a homemaker and loved animals. She was also a fan of NASCAR and her favorite driver was Tony Stewart.
Shirley is survived by three sons, Donald H. King of York, David L. King of West York and Steven A. King and wife, Bonnie of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Eric and Matthew King, Jennifer Glatfelter, Brittany Lane and Amber Nalls; three step- grandchildren, Sara Joines, Cody Frey and Travis Frey; a great granddaughter, Alaina Carbaugh; two step-great granddaughters, Aiyanna Walker and Delilah Frey; a sister, Doris M. Shermeyer Emig of York; a half-brother, John F. Rubinic and wife, Nancy of Duncannon; brother-in-law, Samuel F. King of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany King; daughter-in-law, Bonnie King; and half-brother, Tony Rubinic.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Shirley’s graveside service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Salem Union Cemetery, 2705 W. Canal Rd., Dover. Officiating will be her nephew-in-law, the Rev. Darrell Schrade. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving her family.
