Shirley L. Raffensberger
YORK – Shirley Louise (Hall) Raffensberger, 80, entered into rest at 3:25 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at her home. She was the loving wife of Larry L. Raffensberger. The couple would have celebrated 44 years of marriage on June 30, 2023.
Born July 5, 1942 in York, Shirley was a daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Mary Louise (Kleiman) Hall.
She was a member of Mount Washington United Brethren Church, York. Shirley loved gardening and planting flowers. She took pride in taking care of her home, sewing and cooking. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed family time and her friends.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by a daughter, Vickie Toomey and husband, James of Dover; three sons, Clay Smith of York, Antonio “Tony” Wynegar and wife, Cindy of Vero Beach, FL and Jimmy Wynegar of Spottsylvania, VA; a step-daughter, Melody Roberts and husband, John of Troutman, NC; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Hall and wife, Joyce of York New Salem and Pete Hall of York Township. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Lou Marlowe; and two brothers, Robert Hall and William “Billy” Hall.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Shirley’s funeral at 4 p.m. and the viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Alan Harbold. Following cremation, burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.
