Shirley Ann Ruppert
DOVER – Shirley Ann Ruppert, 88, entered into rest at 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at her home. She was the loving wife of Russell Ruppert. The couple celebrated 66 years of marriage on November 21, 2025.
Born March 23, 1938 in York, Shirley was a daughter of the late Nevin and Flossie (Knaub) Warner.
She graduated from West York High School in 1956 and worked as a secretary for Consolidated Freights. Shirley retired in September of 1999 following 35 years of service.
She was a member of York County Racing Club, Teamsters Retirement Club, Mall Walkers, and Local 430. Shirley enjoyed going on cruises and bus trips and she traveled to all 50 states, as well as, overseas. She was an animal lover, especially dogs.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her niece, Michelle Wolfe of York and nephew, Scott Warner of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Terry Warner and Jimmie Warner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Shirley’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. Officiating will be Chaplain Tim Brown.
