Shirley A. Snelbaker
DOVER – Shirley A. (Glass) Snelbaker, 85, entered into rest Friday morning, December 29, 2023 at York North Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Glenn E. Snelbaker.
Born December 9, 1938 in Mount Royal, Shirley was a daughter of the late Raymond M. and Ethel (Zeigler) Glass.
She retired from Country Meadows of York where she was a cook and previously worked for Fisher’s Restaurant in York. Shirley was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Greater York in Dover.
Shirley is survived by her son, Brian E. Laird and his wife, Terri of Felton; two granddaughters, Amanda Laird and Morgan Tress; two great granddaughters; a sister, Deb Curry of Spring Grove; and three brothers, Gerald Glass, Ralph Glass and Barry Glass, all of Dover. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Spoon.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Shirley’s memorial service at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Lighthouse Baptist Church of Greater York, 5005 Carlisle Rd., Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Sterling Walsh. Interment will take place privately in Salem Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
