Steven E. Knaub, Sr.

YORK – Steven E. Knaub, Sr., 65, entered into rest on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Renovo, PA.  He was the loving husband of Maryann B. (Haas) Knaub.  The couple celebrated 45 years of marriage on October 6, 2024.

Born May 18, 1959 in York, Steven was a son of the late Leon L. “Butch” Knaub, husband of Nancy Knaub of Dover, and the late Judith A. (Bievenour) Dietz.

He graduated from Dover High School in 1977.  Steven had 20 years of service as a machinist for Slothower Machine Shop in York before retiring this past June.

He was a son of Shiloh American Legion Post 791.  Steven was a member of Western Clinton County Sportsmen’s Association, Dover Fish and Game and Yellow Breeches Anglers Association.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Steven was inducted into the Central League Baseball Hall of Fame. He loved to attend and support his grandsons at their sporting events and spending time in the mountains with family. 

In addition to his wife, Steven is survived by his daughter, Courtney  L. Riley and husband, Travis of York; son, Steven E. Knaub, Jr. of York; two grandsons, Coen and Luke Riley; sister, Lisa Barr of Dover; brother, Jeffrey Knaub of Dover; a nephew, Tommy Barr; and nieces, Leah Barr, Amanda Knaub, Shannon Valentine and Holly Daniel.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Knaub.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Steven’s memorial service at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Officiating will be the Reverend Abby Leese, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church Dover.
