Terry A. Stump
DOVER – Terry A. Stump, 76, entered into rest at 4:26 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Victoria J. (Crone) Stump. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage on July 27, 2024.
Born January 13, 1948 in York, Terry was a son of the late Lillian (Minnick) Kellison and step-son of the late Paul Kellison.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Terry had 33 years of service for New York Wire where he was a wire drawer and 10 years of service for PennDOT. He was also the former caretaker of Rohlers Mountain View Cemetery in Dover.
Terry was a member of Rohlers Lutheran Church in Dover, Dover Fish & Game, Dillsburg VFW Post 6771, and Shiloh American Legion Post 791. He was an avid antique collector and produce gardener. He also enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandkids.
In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by three children, Douglas Stump and wife, Bonny, Marsha Updike and husband, Tim and Angela Hernley and husband, Dennis, all of Dover; seven grandchildren, Daniel Barnhart, Lilli Brown and husband, Sam, Matlyn Updike, Zachary Stump, Raven Hernley, Jarod Updike and Zayne Stump; two great grandchildren, Micah Brown and Scarlett Updike; and his best friend, Tom Smith of Dover. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Gracey and brother, Charles Stump.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Terry’s funeral at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Rohlers Lutheran Church, 791 Rohlers Church Rd., Dover, with viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, at the church. Burial will follow in Rohlers Mountain View Cemetery where veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Donna Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rohlers Lutheran Church, 791 Rohlers Church Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
