Thomas C. Chronister, Jr.
DOVER – Thomas C. Chronister, Jr., 88, entered into rest Monday afternoon, February 20, 2023 at his home. He was the loving husband of Mary D. (Flohr) Chronister. The couple celebrated 67 years of marriage on September 9, 2022.
Born May 6, 1934 in York, he was a son of the late Thomas C. and Reba P. (Reynolds) Chronister, Sr.
Tom graduated from Dover High School and served in the U.S. Army. He had 31 years of service for Lyons Metal and had also worked for BAE in addition to being a farmer.
He was a member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church. He had a great love for God, his family and all that nature has to offer.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by a son, Mark Chronister and wife, Bonnie of Dover; a daughter, Hope Yeager and husband, Roy of Dover; three grandchildren, Jesse Chronister and wife, Lauren, Joel Chronister and wife, Rachel and Luke Yeager and wife, Britney; two step-grandchildren, Anthony Yeager and Virginia Fenton and husband, Mike; two great grandchildren, Emmett and Lindsey Chronister; a step-great grandson, Parker Fenton; and three brothers, Ray Chronister and wife, Judy of Spring Grove, Glenn Chronister and wife, JoAnn of Buffalo, NY and Ralph Chronister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Faith Chronister and a sister, Peggy Rogers.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service to celebrate Tom’s life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 with the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at Dover Bethany U.M. Church, 4510 Bull Rd., Dover. Officiating will be Tom’s pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore. Veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover is serving his family.
