Obituary

Thomas W. Fadely

DOVER – Thomas W. Fadely, 76, entered into rest Wednesday evening, September 14, 2022 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Harrisburg.  He was the husband of the late Janet M. (Laird) Fadely.  They were married 49 years.

Born March 27, 1946 in York, Thomas was a son of the late William H. and Wella Almeda (Sweitzer) Fadely.

He graduated from York High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from 1966 to 1968.

Tom and his wife opened Fadely’s Auto Masters in 1977, which together, they owned and operated until his retirement in 2015.  He was a big advocate for the automotive industry and was a former president of AASP-PA.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover and a former member of Rohlers Lutheran Church in Dover. Tom was also a member and three-time past president of Dover Lions Club and a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post 791. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, driving his corvettes and volunteering his time to help out anywhere he could.

Thomas is survived by his two sons, Bret T. Fadely and wife, Sally of Dover and Chad D. Fadely of Shiloh; four grandsons, Jordan T. Fadely, Benjamin K. Henry, Tanner L. Fadely and Austin D. Fadely; companion, Sally Estep of York; a sister, Sherry Fadely of Seattle, WA; and a brother, Edward R. Fadely, Sr. of Dover.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister, Janice L. Frischkorn.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Thomas’ funeral at 11:30 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover.  Following cremation, burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Rohlers Mountain View Cemetery.  Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Abigail Leese.  Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving his family.
