DOVER – Thomas E. Shultz, 76, formerly of 86 N. Main St., Dover, entered into rest Thursday morning, January 11, 2024 at Kingston Court Nursing & Rehabilitation in York. He was the husband of the late Rita C. (Staley) Shultz, who died on January 9, 2023. They were married almost 57 years. Together, they shared a birthday and a lifetime.
Born March 9, 1947 in York, Thomas was a son of the late Clarence F. and Ardella R. (Klepper) Shultz. He graduated from Dover Area High School in 1965.
Thomas began working as an apprentice with Borg-Warner and continued working there as a machinist through the transition of both York International and Johnson Controls. He was a lifetime member of West Manchester Township Farmer’s & Sportsman Association; Viking Athletic Association; and NRA. He was an avid hunter and devoted member of Spike Buck Camp where he was the cook and enjoyed spending summer vacations with his family. Thomas loved animals and regularly gave to the Best Friends Animal Society. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Fliers and Penn State Football. Thomas was also uniquely crafty – he could make flowers out of water bottles and figurines out of corn cobs. Additionally, he enjoyed playing chess and Uno with his grandson, playing guitar, listening to music and reading. He also enjoyed making people laugh and smile.
Thomas is survived by two daughters, Teresa Shultz Fogelman and husband, Fredrick and Dawn Reimold and husband, Randy, all of York; grandson, Darien Reimold; two step-grandchildren, Katie and Zachery Fogelman; and a brother, James Shultz of Dover.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Thomas’ funeral at 2:30 p.m. and the viewing from 2 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover.
