Virginia L. Poe

HANOVER – Virginia L. (Reynolds) Poe, 97, entered into rest Sunday morning, December 18, 2022 at Hanover Hall.  She was the wife of the late William R.G. Poe.

Born March 16, 1925 in Chantilly, VA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph I. and Mary E. (Trynor) Reynolds.

Over the years, Virginia worked for the Department of Defense (during WWII), East Berlin Shoe Factory, Hanover Spinning Mill, Pasco County Florida where she was a Health and Human Resource Clerk, and New Port Richey Florida Community Hospital.  She lived experiences of The Greatest Generation including The Great Depression, WWII and The Cold War, to name a few.  Virginia was an amazing woman, wife and mother, but more importantly, a follower of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She enjoyed decorating.

Virginia is survived by three sons, Jeffrey A. Poe of Trinity, FL, Walter G. Poe of Mount Wolf and William R. Poe of North Carolina; four daughters, Jacqueline L. Reeder of Crossfork, PA, Lois A. Hamilton of Brookesville, FL, Linda K. Harmon of Hanover and Barbara E. Mahone of Spring Grove; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, three brothers and four sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Virginia’s funeral at 11 a.m.  and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover.  Officiating will be Pastor Jason M. Myers of Victory Baptist Church in Hanover.
