Wayne L. Crone

DOVER – Wayne L. Crone, 86, entered into rest at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home.  He was the loving husband of Shirley L. (Thompson) Crone.  The couple celebrated 66 years of marriage on November 18, 2022.

Born October 31, 1936 in Dover, Wayne was a son of the late Lester R. and Esther P. (Lynn) Crone.

He graduated from Dover High School in 1954 and worked for CPI in order selecting.

Wayne was a very active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover and a member of the Train Collectors Association and Dover Alumni Association.  He was also a life member of the York County Agricultural Society and was active with the York Fair.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin W. Crone of Dover.   He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph Crone.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Wayne’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover.  Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Abigail Leese.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
