William Cox, Sr. Obituary

William S. Cox, Sr.

DOVER – William S. "Bill" Cox, Sr., 72, entered into rest Tuesday morning, February 11, 2025 at his home. He was the loving husband of Diane M. (Serafin) Cox. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage on April 4, 2024.

Born July 18, 1952 in Dayton, OH, Bill was a son of the late George D. Cox and Cammie M. (Godbey) Cox Muniz.

He had been employed by KBA (previously Motter Printing Press) and most recently worked for Lowe’s. Bill was an avid Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Orioles fan. He also loved his motorcycle. Bill loved to laugh and his dry sense of humor and talkative nature enabled him to make friends with just about anyone. He was very supportive of his family, especially his children and grandchildren - the people he loved spending time with the most.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, Deborah Thomas of York, Rebecca Johnson and husband, David, of Stephens City, VA and William S. Cox, Jr. and wife, Heather, of La Plata, MD; 12 grandchildren, Dylan Thomas and companion, Minda Swartz, Samantha Thomas, Robert Torres, Kyra Johnson, Catherine Johnson, Orion Cox, Brayden Cox, Chance Cox, Faith Cox, Savannah Vasquez, Seth Escabi and Nathan Escabi; two great grandchildren, Michael Thomas and Colt Thomas; and three siblings, Lisa Muniz, Raymond Muniz and Rose Strickland. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dave Cox, Dana Muniz and Carol Muniz.

Following cremation, a celebration of life for Bill will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. in Dover.
