William Ronald Pickerill
DOVER – William Ronald Pickerill, 90, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at UPMC Memorial. He was the loving husband of Mary K. (Melnik) Pickerill. The couple celebrated 64 years of marriage on October 26, 2021.
Born October 27, 1931 in Johnstown, William was the son of the late Robert M. and Alice (Sensebaugh) Pickerill.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and also served 10 years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
William had 29 years of service in maintenance for Harley Davidson. He attended Church of the Open Door.
William enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor home, hunting, fishing and puzzling. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and made sure to attend all of their activities.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by two daughters, Cheryl L. Eckenrode of Dover and Susan L. Kerr; a son, Ronald W. Pickerill of York; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally Ann McKinley and Alice Adams; and a brother, Robert Pickerill.
Following cremation, services for William will be private at the convenience of the family.
