William P. Rodgers, Sr.
DOVER – William P. Rodgers, Sr., 87, entered into rest at 2:15 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at UPMC Memorial. He was the husband of the late Peggy A. (Chronister) Rodgers and long time companion of Charlotte Clark.
Born November 3, 1935 in York, William was a son of the late John O. and Goldie E. (Oberlander) Rodgers.
He was a farmer who had also worked for Dover Township and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover.
William is also survived by five children, William P. Rodgers, Jr., Keith E. Rodgers, Jerry D. Rodgers, Wanda L. Goudreau and Beth A. Fretz; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John J. Rodgers and a sister, Judith Smith.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service to celebrate William’s life at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover, followed by a time of visitation. Interment will take place at 3 p.m. in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Abigail Leese. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
